The Deacons have voted to sponsor 20 children through the Department of Child Services this year for our “Giving Tree” mission. The Department of Child Services has supplied information for each child and it will be posted in the church parlor in order for any of the Congregation wishing to help with this mission to be able to begin shopping for the Christmas gifts of a child or children they wish to sponsor.

The Department of Child Services would like to see each child get at least one complete out-fit with hat and gloves.  Personal items such as personal hygiene items: toothbrushes, bath & body soaps and haircut certificates are also appreciated.  Coats should be provided through other coat drives.  If items on the wish list are too expensive, they may give insight into the child’s wants and interests.  The Deacons suggest for the “Wish List” portion of the gift, the limit should be $25, especially if there are siblings too.

A Christmas tree will be set up in the church parlor Sunday, November 28th.  It will be decorated with paper ornaments containing each child’s information.

Members of the congregation will choose the ornament corresponding with the child/children they have chosen for shopping.  Please remove all tags and place them in the provided envelope and attach the paper ornament to the wrapped package.  Please return gifts to the church by Sunday, December 5th or Sunday, December 12th at the very latest.

If members of the congregation wish to donate money, I will be glad to shop and wrap and return the gift(s).

Thank you for our congregation’s support of this mission!   The Deacons appreciate the generosity and help in providing these children a better Christmas!

Thank you again for your generosity.
